Preparation
Tryptic Soy Medium with 5% Defibrinated Sheep Blood
Step 1.
Add to approprialty sized flask. Flask volume should be 2x to final solution volume.

Potassium Phosphate, Dibasic

D-Glucose Anhydrous

Step 2.
If making solid media, add 1.5% (w/v = 1.5g/100ml) agar to the flask.
Agar

(1.5 % w/v)
Step 3.
Add a few hundred ml of distilled water. Swirl to mix.
If the dry ingredients do not suspend sufficiently with agitation, you can add a magnet and stir/heat on a magnetic stirrer/heater.
Step 4.
Autoclave at 121ºC.
Step 5.
Cool to ~50°C. The flask should be just cool enough to touch.
Step 6.
Add 5% sheep blood (v/v = 5ml/100ml)
